Instagram restrictions: check, document and appeal
A reach drop, a recommendation restriction and a disabled account are different problems. Start with the status Instagram actually shows.
Check the official account status
Open Instagram’s Account Status and read the affected content or account-level restriction. Record the exact notice, date and any review option shown. Do not diagnose a hidden penalty from a single low-performing post. Recommendation eligibility is a separate threshold from whether content may remain on the service.

Prepare a factual review request
- Save the relevant notice and identify the affected content.
- Read the cited rule and explain the specific point you believe was misunderstood.
- Use the review option offered in the app or official Help Center.
- Keep the reference number and follow the status and instructions shown.
Do not submit repeated appeals on an invented 48-hour schedule. Timing and available options depend on the case. Disabled accounts have their own official recovery process. Document the steps you have already taken and the responses you received.
Keep security and moderation separate
Use two-factor authentication, check recovery details and review connected tools. These help protect access; they do not exempt content from moderation. Meta explains how to review security information and appeal content decisions in its safety guidance.

Links do not provide a shield
A custom landing page or link list does not make a prohibited destination or promotion acceptable. Review the current content and link rules for your actual use. Keep original files and authorised business records, but do not treat fan contact data as a list you can reuse without a proper basis.
